HOTDOG ON THE PLAINS
The hotdog mountains were hand carved from foam then covered with a rocky texture. They were built as two halves in order to allow for flexibility in positioning during the shoot. For the epic sky, we scouted a location not far from our house with an uninterrupted view of the sunset. Every evening we waited and watched. When the right evening came along we rushed to the location and captured as many frames of the setting sun that we could. A large backlit film was then made to have the perfect sky for our set. Finally, the grassy plane was built in camera with a stand in hot dog in order to make sure the grass heights framed the dog perfectly.
